Tiny steps

Today was a good day.

I've let my house go a bit whilst I've focused on getting my thoughts into a reasonable order, today was the day I decided enough of this mess, I also have to confess to feeling overwhelmed with it all so I ignored a lot of it.

I attacked the kitchen today.  A Deep clean was in order, how quickly dies grease build up, yuk.  Everything was scrubbed to within a inch of its life and the result speak for themselves.  The place is sparkling.  For some reason I can't seem to insert pictures, but trust me it's sparkling.  Unfortunately that's only on the outside.  The cupboards on the inside are full of stuff that I will now need to sort.  I've far to many pots and pans so will need to clear them out, but it will be so much easier now that I've clutter free work tops.  I'm setting myself a goal of doing one cupboard a night.

I also managed to sell a few things today.  My lovely friend L.A. Came to visit and she took away my wicker woman mannequin doll and quite a few other bits and bobs.  Then this evening the Welsh dresser found a new home.  This left me with the dilemma if where to put all the stuff that had lived in the dressers (I originally had two but sold one earlier in the week). But another friend came to the rescue and helped me sort of sort it out.  The room was re-jiggled about and piles created.  I've now a pile of stuff to photograph and sell and a pile that still requires sorting.  I'll select from that pile stuff I want to keep and the rest will go in the for sale pile.

I still want to do my hobbies when I hit the road but I have to be realistic about the space I'll have available.

I've spent a small fortune over the years on craft stuff, it's a valuable lesson for me all this.  I'll think twice in the future before I buy anything from now on.  It will have to be worth it and fit into my life to qualify for me spending money on it.

At least I'm making money on selling it, not as much as I originally paid for it, but money none the less.

The outside of the house needs some attention to make it appealing for kerb appeal, flaking paint just won't do.  I've spent a few hours with a wire brush and scrapper and wasn't getting very far, so I contacted some sand blasting companies.  One got back to me today and after reviewing photos of the front of the house adviced me not to sandblast, so it's back to the wire brush for me.  That's another thing to do each evening.  I'm guessing a hour a night for the next few weeks might see me in a position to start painting.  I'm not going to stress about it all though.  The house will be listed for sale when it's done.

No point in rushing, this is a life changing decision and I want to do it right so I'll take my time, although it goes against my nature.  Usually when I make a decision I just want to do it.

Right I'm off to google his to get pics from my iPad onto my blog.  Fingers crossed my next post will include some pictures
