It's been some time...
...since I last posted and unfortunately I'm no nearer to my goal. I've had two viewers to the house. First one was in the first week of the house going in the market, they didn't like the lack of parking. The 2nd viewer was two weeks ago. They had me jumping through hoops, which I thought had paid off as a week later they put in an offer! The agent said say no, as they indicated they would pay the asking price! I took the agents advice and bugger me, they put in an offer on a completely different house which was accepted. Now I'm sat here with no bloody buyer and and agent saying it wasn't meant to be. Bollocks.
I had got so excited at the thought of having sold the house and was in Ayr for the day when I got the initial (and only) offer. They have a lovely showroom there selling campers, etc. And as luck should have it, I found the van of my dreams! Can you believe it. Nice been looking for ages and never really found one that made me feel warm and fuzzy. But on this day I did. I made plans to go back to see it today, which I had to cancel. I suppose the up side is, I can stop looking at vans now. When I do eventually sell I'll know what to look for.
I also started looking at some small flats down south, but again, that's another project that's on the back burner. Again, the upside is that after many hours of chats with Ben, it's agreed it's not worth us buying anything in Scotland now as neither of us would use it much, whereas something on the M6 corridor would be more accessible and more useable for us both.
I now have to motivate myself into clearing out this place. It's a little overwhelming, how do you decide what to get rid of and what to keep. I'm not even sure if I will like can life. I read something terrible the other day about robberies in vans in France whilst the occupants slept in them. People are tying the doors together from the inside to stop people breaking in. Surely that can't be safe? Also lots of things to learn about toll roads, etc. I'm bricking it if I'm honest and taking the pets is freaking me out. What do I do if they get lost/sick/in trouble? Actually what happens if I get sick/in trouble? Lost I can cope with, truthfully that's one of the things I'm looking forward to lol.
Anyway, that's my update, you'll now appreciate the fact that I've left it so long, I'd just have bored you with my moaning.
Oh on another note, I've finished at the festival. It was a great success and I loved working with the kids. Report is all submitted and I'm on holiday till the end of the month when my contract officially ends. Now to start the process of finding something else! I best update my CV!
